Industrial Engraving

Industrial Engraving

Distribution Maintenance provides industrial engraving using metal plates built to your specification.

We produce:

  • Company name plates for transit equipment — roll cages, thermotainers and stillages
  • Engraved plates for electrical installations and appliances
  • Company plates and signage for business premises
  • Signal and warning plates
  • Engraved labels for electrical panels and switchgear

Plates are engraved up to A4 size and available across thicknesses from 0.015 to 0.125 inches. Materials include stainless steel, aluminium, carbon steel and brass, with safety and warning signage produced to meet required health and safety standards.

We hold a wide selection of plate and sheet metal in stock, which cuts processing time down considerably — most orders are completed within a matter of days.

How does our engraving service work?

We request your wording in writing at the time of your order. We then set up the artwork and provide a proof to you for approval before commencing production.

We recommend allowing a couple of days for set up.

When do we pay?

A deposit of 25% is taken with the order and the balance taken on the day of delivery, or completion of the work for collection. We accept all major debit and credit cards and Paypal.

We offer volume discounts for bulk orders. You can collect your engraved equipment from us or we can deliver your engraved plates and plaques direct to you. Just ask us for a quote and your preference for delivery or collection

Fitting services

We offer a fitting service so your plates can be fixed to your transit equipment or to any transit equipment purchased from us.

Our trained engineers inspect, repair and install warehouse racking to SEIRS standards. We handle everything from routine inspection through to full installation and dismantling, and we supply both new and refurbished racking systems.

Health and safety

Health and safety laws require that warehouses carry out regular pallet racking safety inspections and this is where we can help. All our work and equipment supplied is designed to comply with the following directives:

  • Health and Safety Executive HSG76 regarding warehousing and storage
  • EN1629 Steel static storage systems specification of storage equipment 8.8
  • SEMA Code of practice for the use of static pallet racking 8.4 Rack protection

Our security fencing solutions protect both your personnel and your stock. Fencing keeps employees clear of operating machinery and secures high-value goods — alcohol, cigarettes, luxury items — behind a controlled barrier.

We supply and fit secure warehouse fencing to any size, including:

  • Panels with heavy duty weld mesh or high security mesh
  • Security doors — double or single, swing or sliding, with round slam post or fire exit type doors
  • Locking systems that accept your own padlock or hook bolts with cylinders

Fitting

The use of steel handrails can be used for protection and walkways in warehouses and we can design them to suit your specific needs.

Vehicles such as forklift trucks moving around sites and warehouses can cause damage to walls, loading decks and security fencing.

Rack protection matters most on corners and in areas of heavy forklift traffic, where a single impact can take a run of racking out of service.

We supply narrow aisle protectors, corner guard protectors and standard guard protectors, in both new and refurbished metal. Fitting them is one of the cheapest ways to reduce the risk of accidents and avoid the cost of replacing damaged racking.

Custom Metalwork for Roll Cages

Custom Metalwork for Roll Cages

We make modifications and custom improvements to your existing roll cages to improve handling and speed of transport.

For example, metal foot bars can be added to existing equipment to help move roll cages onto pavements or raised surfaces. Grab handles reduce the chance of operators hurting their hands when pushing or pulling cages.

If a piece of your fleet isn’t working the way your site needs it to, we can usually modify it rather than replace it.

Equipment Modification

In addition to roll cage modifications, Distribution Maintenance can make the necessary modifications to all other associated equipment, including trolleys, stillages, post pallets and plastic containers.

Rectification

Distribution Maintenance can carry out the required modifications to your equipment, either on your own site or the equipment can be dropped off to our dedicated repair centre.

Distribution Maintenance provides a roll cage rental service that’s genuinely unusual in this market. Through our partner company Roll Cage Rental, we offer a rental service that removes the up-front capital cost of buying cages outright and lets you benefit from a nationwide cage recovery service.

We hold a large, readily available fleet of uniform mesh retail cages, so we can respond to immediate support requirements. The fleet is also identifiable, making it easier for you to locate and return your cages at the end of the contracted term.

Unique rental scheme

Our unique rental scheme offers a real difference as we focus on the “True Rental Cost” (TRC) as explained below.

There are two types of cost involved in renting a roll cage:

  • Quoted Rental Charge – calculated as a daily rate per cage;
  • Cost of Terminal Losses –  calculated as the cost charged for every cage not returned to the renter, or not found during a periodic audit.

When the two charges are aggregated a True Rental Cost (TRC) per cage is produced.

Our rental model uses our unique recovery service to bring down your True Rental Cost and minimise any nasty surprise charges at the end of your cage rental period.

Benefits

These are primarily driven by the way that our service is aimed to protect your rental fleet of cages. Our service has the following benefits versus other rental cage providers:

  • Unique access to the recovery services provided by ACQSYS Supply Chain Solutions Limited.
  • We find and recover some of the rental cages you may have lost. We keep those cages and de-hire them from your account.
  • At the end of the rental period, any shortfall in cages returned to us is offset by the number we recovered.
  • Our daily rental charge will not necessarily always be higher but the recovery rate will always bring the TRC down.
  • Our rental periods can be completely tailored to your needs.
